Enjoying Life…Day to Day…

It’s easy to get caught up in…and overwhelmed by the details of life.
Next thing you know…you aren’t having fun any more.
This is something that my wife and I combat against
. One of our main goals (developed from our end of the year ‘get away’), is to make sure we are having fun day to day.
Here’s how:
- Keep trying new things:
Tonight, I’m taking my wife to an indoor soccer game. Never been…don’t know what to expect…but we’ll have fun there. - Keep doing things we love:
In early February, we are getting together with friends to go to a German Restaurant. Although it’s about an hour from us, this German restaurant is fantastic. And…it reminds us of our good German friend Christoph (who we hosted as an exchange student for one year). - Stay focused on God:
For years, we’ve cultivated our individual relationships with God….and…our relationship as a couple with God. We started to study through the book of Acts together as a couple (and it generates great discussion
). We are also going through the devotional ‘Jesus Calling‘ as a couple this year. (by the way…that’s not an affiliate link) - Keep things ‘fresh‘:
Even the activities that we do regularly, I’m trying to ‘freshen up’ these things. For example – We travel quite a bit internationally to Eastern Europe (business, missions, etc). Though we love that part of the world, we are taking the initiative to explore ‘new and exciting’ parts of the world. One example is a trip to Costa Rica we took a few weeks ago. No particular reason there in particular….we just decided to explore a new place.
How about you? How do you make sure you are enjoying life day today…and keeping it exciting?

I think it’s wonderful how you really walk the talk Brent! I commend you and your wife for really make the effort to enjoy this extraordinary gift that God has given each of us!
Thank you Ann! We don’t always get it right…but we just keep seeking God and do our best to move forward
I know someone who plays indoor soccer. Where did you guys go to watch the game?
KC Comets at Sprint Center in downtown K.C. Lots of fun!!
